Washington Experience Completes Successful Summer

The University of Alabama Washington Experience program just completed a successful summer. Nearly 20 undergraduates received political science course credit for their Washington, DC internships and over 30 students who were in Washington over the summer participated in at least one event. Highlights of the summer included a private meeting with U.S. Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, meetings with Senator Jeff Sessions and Congressman Spencer Bachus and a luncheon with Weekly Standard Editor Fred Barnes. Students also had a chance to attend a number of social functions including an alumni reception hosted by Career Services. Plans for next summer’s program in 2012 are already underway.
